upgrade for Office to latest revision

I have 3 computers with Office. Each of them has a different version of
Office. I can't move files like email & contacts from my laptop with the
latest version to any of the others (Office XP) as the file structure has
changed! Why can't there be an inexpensive upgrade or conversion program?

That is a viable idea IF it was identified at the original instalation!
After emails and contacts are entered and received in 2003 on the laptop on
the road, it is impossible to transfer the information to desktops with older
versions. Therefore a conversion program is needed.
