Upgrade from Office 2002 to Office 2003

I've just done this Upgrade. I now see, in Add/Remove programs, two entries. One for Outlook 2002 (237 MB) and one for Office 2003 (355 MB). Am I safe in removing the Office 2002 item, or can I not, as it was an Upgrade?

Feel free to remove Outlook 2002, it was just used for verification by the setup of OL2003.
