Upgrade from Office 2003 Std to Office 2003 Pro?

I wanted to upgrade from Office 2003 Standard to Office 2003 Pro. I bought
the upgrade, but it won't install because I am not eligible for the upgrade
-- I am supposed to be upgrading from Office XP, Office 2000 or Office 97.
Am I stuck?

Hi Dave,

MS considers moving between editions (standard, professional etc) within the same version (2003 in this case) of MS Office to be a
'cross grade' rather than an upgrade. Basically a 2003 version Office edition is usually not a qualifying product to upgrade to
another Office 2003 edition.

The exception for Office 2003 is the MS Office 2006 Small Business Management Edition (not the Small Business Edition). The MS
Office 2006 SBM Edition includes MS Office Professional 2003 and MS Office Small Business Accounting 2006 and recognizes other MS
Office 2003 editions as upgrade qualifiers.
