upgrade from Office/Outlook 2000 to 2007

Hi.
I have just purchased Office Home & Student 2007 plus Outlook 2007 to
replace the current 2000 versions on my PC (running XP Home). What is the
easiest way to do this? Do I need to uninstall 2000 first? If so, how? Any
help/advice to a non- tekkie would be much appreciated.

Uninstall Office 2000 using Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs.
If it is a retail version and you still have the Product Key, you can sell
it or use it in another computer. If you have less than 1 GB (1024 MB) of
memory you may need to upgrade hardware to take advantage of all features of
Office 2007, such as I believe the grammar checker.

Thank you Earle,
Do I uninstall Outlook in the same way as it does not appear in the Add or
remove programs facility?

Uninstalling Office will uninstall ALL Office modules, including Outlook.

MS Office 2000 in the Add/Remove comprises all the Office 2k components.
Reboot your PC prior to installing 2007.
When you start outlook 2007 it may give you the option to use the existing
outlook data file, if it does, dont take that option, create a new data
file, which will be in the new unicde format (doesnt have size issue that 2k
data file has)
Then once OL2007 has started add your old data file, either leave it open or
copy data across to the new data file (Personal Folders)
