upgrade installation error - disks missing

O

Old Version

I have a Sony Vaio notebook which came with a trial version of office 2003 -
student / teacher. I bought the upgrade, but upon trying to install, I
received an error stating I was missing a file and I should install my
original disks. I didn't receive any disks, so what am I to do?

During the upgrade purchase, I gave my address for MS to send disks but
there was no mention of having to wait for the disks prior to installing the
upgrade code. Will the disks MS is to send have the files? Is there a way to
install prior to receiving the disks? Thanks

Did you purchase a full version of Office 2003, or an upgrade version of
Office 2003? The trial version of Office 2003 does not qualify you for
upgrade pricing. If you do already own one of the qualifying products listed
in http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=832288 , then you should have purchased
a full version of Office 2003. What did the error message say exactly?
