Upgrade of Entourage for Exchange use (again)

I have a valid version of Entourage 2008 with Exchange support.

I have a valid version of Office 2008 Student and Home.

I need to run Entourage 2008 with Exchange support and the other office applications on the same machine.

This scenario is currently broken due to installer issues known to Microsoft.

The workaround (install office first, then Entourage, then updates) does not work for me. Since the version of Office 2008 Student is already patched to 12.1.0 on the install CD, it is newer than the user-posted workaround. This fact leads to a failed install of the full version of Entourage.

Microsofties, please don't let this one dangle, as it is causing a huge amount of pain for me and many others.

MS doesn't post here. Don't expect any answer from them.
If you want to write to them, you need to use the Send Feedback command
in the Help menu of any of the MS applications.
