Upgrade Office Small Business 2000 to Office Home & Student 2007

John M.

I have Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business on my home computers. One is
Vista 32 bit and the other is XP sp2. We used to have a small business but
now are retired.
I recently purchased a new laptop (Vista 64 bit) and also purchased Office
Home and Student 2007 for 3 pc’s.
My question is, can I upgrade my SB 2000 with the H&S 2007 on both my
existing pc’s since we are no longer using them for business? I was wondering
if there would be a problem since the old one was for business and the new
one is for personal use only.
Also, what is the best way to upgrade? I have the CD and product key.
Thanks in advance, John

Office 2000 SB contains components not included in H&S 2007
If you insert your H&S cd/dvd it should offer to upgrade the earlier
components, doing so will replace components of 2000 that are contained
within H&S, it will leave Outlook, as H&S doesnt contain Outlook, it may
leave other components, but I dont recall what 2000 SB contains

Personnally I would uninstall 2000 SB, reboot, then install H&S
All your data files will be retained, The components contained within H&S
can read old format files
