Upgrade options to get better Exchange support

I need better Exchange support, but my company is NOT running Exchange 2007. I have Office 2008 Home Edition. If I move up to standard edition, do I still get better Exchange support than just the Home Edition, even if my company is not running Exchange 2007 yet?

Also, what are my upgrade options? I have Office 2004 Home Edition and office 2008 Home Edition. Does either quality for the upgrade version?

If not, I also have a copy of Special Media Edition -- does that have the better Exchange support like standard edition?

Given that the Home & Student edition does not offer Exchange support *at
all*, it's not too difficult for the Standard edition to offer better
Exchange support. The Standard and Special Media editions of Microsoft
Office 2008 both offer Exchange support, and they can access any recent
version of Exchange. Should your company decide to upgrade to Exchange 2007,
then you can download the Web Services Edition of Entourage 2008, which
offers the best Exchange support of all the versions of Entourage out there,
for free.

No version of Office 2008 qualifies for the Upgrade edition. You need to
have an earlier version of Office, such as Office 2004, BUT the Student &
Teacher edition does not qualify for the Upgrade edition.

The Special Media edition contains the same version of Entourage as the
Standard edition; so yes, use that one if you want to get the most out of
Exchange.

Thanks for the help.

Another quick question -- can I install ONLY entourage from the Media edition disks, or do I need to install the whole thing?

If I have to install the whole thing, then I'm assuming I have to uninstall home and student edition as per instructions in some of the other threads I've seen here, correct?

I would remove the Home & Student edition first. It might be possible to
install Entourage only, but I don't know how Office applications from
different editions interact. Furthermore, the updaters are known to be
rather fragile, so if your install is not entirely kosher, you might end up
having to remove & reinstall Office anyway in order to be able to apply the
updates.
