Why do MS not make this easy! I want to upgrade from Office 2003 Student
Teacher to 2007 for all elements. I run two copies - what is the most cost
effective route to install 2007 on both machines? I need Word, Excel,
Powerpoint and Outlook on both machines

The kicker is Outlook.

If you meet the desktop/notebook license rule where you are the
primary user of both and both will not be used at the same time, then
you can go for Office Standard 2007 which includes Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Outlook. According to
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites/FX101754511033.aspx, Office
2003 S&T qualifies as an upgrading product to Office Standard 2007.

If this is for two computers which can be used at the same time, you
can try Office Home & Student 2007 which allows 3 installs (for
NON-COMMERCIAL use, note this caveat) but does not include Outlook.
(Office H&S doesn't have an upgrade version. You don't need a
qualifying product. It's full install only.) You'd then need to either
get Outlook separately or see if OneNote, which is included, handled
email (or try a 3rd party product such as Thunderbird). Or you can get
two copies of Office Standard 2007.

Good luck
Brian

Is one a laptop? (You failed to say...) if so, the standard version allows
you to install on one desktop and one laptop OWNED AND USED BY YOU....
