I have Office 2003 with BCM and got the Office 2007 Suite which did not have
BCM, is there anyway to get BCM as an add on?
Thanks in advance

Hi Dave,

BCM for Outlook 2003 does not work with Outlook 2007. You need to get BCM
for Outlook 2007 which comes with the following Office SKUs:
Microsoft Office 2007 Professional
Microsoft Office 2007 Small Business
Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate

Thanks.

If you have Outlook 2007, you can download BCM 2007 and install it.

Sadly, I've forgotten the URL. But you search this newsgroup or
microsoft.com for it.

For clarification I have a few questions.

Is this BCM 2007 download available online free of charge if one already has
Outlook 2007? If so, is this a temporary promotional offering by MS to
encourage its adoption by Outlook 2007 users? Does this download require one
to have either Office Small Business, Professional, Ultimate SKUs or can one
download it free for use with Outlook 2007 as packaged among the other Office
SKUs? (I don't exactly know how many other new 2007 offerings there are-
Student, Standard, etc.) It has always been my understanding that obtaining
BCM 2007 required Outlook from the highest 3 editions of Office but I may be
in error about that requirement. Please confirm if possible.

I am tempted to wonder out loud if MS is giving BCM away via downloads free
of charge as a reflection of its low demand due to a limited feature set and
thus a slower rate of adoption among potential users than had been hoped for?

My questions are not meant to be negative. I am genuinely interested in
clarification over how someone may be able to the obtain BCM 2007. I know of
some colleagues who will use nothing but MS native product offerings and I
will pass word along accordingly.

Thanks,

-THP

Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 can be found and downloaded from
multiple places. However, it can also be installed if Outlook 2007 is on the
same machine.

However, it will not work properly without a properly licensed Office
version installed on the same computer.

The version needed for BCM to work properly are:
Pro
Pro plus (a non-retail version of Office)
Enterprise (a non-retail version of Office)
Small Business
Ultimate
Some Trial versions - but only until the trial period expires.

Thanks for your interest in Business Contact Manager
