Upgrade question> XP to 2003 version

I have the Off XP pro installed. I am going to put the new Off 2003 pro in today. Should I do an upgrade or uninstall XP and put 2003 in fresh?

We installed over XP/2000 apps with no problems
Did not uninstall anything prior to upgrade.
