Upgrade template, still old version

I've built an infopath form template, published it, uploaded it to Forms
Server and activated it. I have a forms library that uses the content type
based on this form. After making changes to the form, I repeat the publish,
upload and activate steps, but when I click 'New' in my forms library, it
opens the old version of the form. As suggested elsewhere I cleared the
Infopath cache (I also tried it on other computers). If I look in the Form
Templates library on my server, it shows the correct version, but when I open
the form in Infopath, it's not the latest version.

Any suggestions where I can look to see why this form isn't being published
properly?

Hi Skipl,

Open your template in Design and go to Tools--> Form Options--> Versioning,
Increase the version number (just increment it to 5 to 10). Now publish the
form.
This may solve your problem.

Try removing the old content type through form library settings and
then adding the new content type.

Hi,
Make Sure that On version Upgrade value should be Automatically Upgrade
Existing Forms.
For this please follow the below Steps.
Open Form in Design Mode.
Go to Tools -> Form Options ->Versioning.
In that select On Version Upgrade DropDown Value to Automatically Upgrade
Existing Forms.
And then again publish.
It may sove yiur problem.

Thanks for all the answers, but the problem persists...

The version number is changing correctly. The correct version is shown for
the template in the 'Manage Form Templates' list after upload/upgrade.

I've tried removing the content type, but it didn't help. I also completely
removed and recreated the list.

There isn't an 'Automatic Upgrade' entry in my Versioning options. Plus,
this isn't strictly an upgrading issue; it shows the old tempate when I
create new forms also.

For some reason, it always serves up the old template even after an upload.
Doesn't matter if I deactivate, activate, and/or complete remove the existing
template.

Suggestions are most welcome...

This is a strange issue,
1: are you uploading the form via central admin or directly to the site?
2: You said there is no "Automatic Upgrade" option this doesn't sound right,
click on Tools>Form Options Click on the versioning tab, the second option
in this dialog should say "On Version Upgrade" with a drop down list this
drop down should have "Automatically Upgrade existing forms" as one of the
options.

Check this out and see how you go

have you tried waiting a while? i ran into this. what it turned out to be
was SharePoint caching. If i just waited an hour, the form would update.

Hey Ed,
This to is a known issue with SharePoint pre SP1,
you can force the upgrade by using STSADM to force the upgrade through, the
command is
stsadm.exe -o execadmsvcjobs

Hi skip,

Have you found a solution to your problem? I'm facing the exact same situation as you did.

I upgrade the form template in central admin, but I still get the old template in the form library.

Yes, I deactivated, removed the old template. Upload the new one back and activated it to the site collection.

The versions seem correct in central admin and I did select "automatically update the existing forms" as suggested.

Thanks
