I have the Microsoft Office 2003 Student Edition. Can I buy the Upgrade to the Microsoft Office 2008 Media Edition? I have read that you can upgrade *any* edition of 2004 to the Business Edition, I just want to make sure that I can upgrade my Student Version of 2004 to the Media Edition of 2008 before I buy it.

Thank you,
Amalthea

Well, it really isn't clear what you have... You start off writing
"...Office 2003" -- which is a PC version, but you end up referring to
"Office 2004", so let's assume the 2003 is a typo :)

The answer to your question is "Yes", you qualify for the upgrade if you are
a licensed user of:
.. Any Office for Mac 98-2004 suite
.. Any Office for Mac 98-2004 standalone application (Excel, Word, or
Powerpoint)

However, the Special Media Edition has been discontinued/replaced by the
Business Edition, so the question is whether you can still find the Special
Media Edition. It is aparently available at Amazon.com & perhaps other
sources.

Just in case, no version of Win Office qualifies for an upgrade to any Mac
version & vice-versa.

Hi Bob, yes, the 2003 was a typo! Thank you so much. I found the media edition upgrade on amazon and it is much cheaper than the business upgrade. Thank you!!
