I recently upgraded to Office 2003 from Office 2000 SR-1
Premium. No issues during the upgrade were encountered.
However, upon looking at my Add/Remove applet under
Control Panel, I find both an "Office 2000 SR-1 Premium"
entry, as well as the new "Office 2003" entry. I did not
expect to see both. Both entries are capable of invoking
an uninstall. Why is the older reference still present?
Is this due to the fact that FrontPage 2000 (part of
Office 2000) is now an "orphaned artifact", since
FrontPage is no longer a component of Office 2003? My
biggest question is whether I can safely uninstall
the "Office 2000 SR-1" item without negatively affecting
the form, fit and function of Office 2003? Can any of
you guys advise? Thanks in advance. --MG.
