upgrade to office 2003 now have problems

I have recently upgraded from micrsoft office 2000 to 2003 and now each time
i try to login I have to depress the Fn and Num Lk key first. it seems to go
back to the num lk each time i log off and back on. I have changed it from
those settings but it keeps returning to that setting. (Fn and Num Lk) how
can I disengage the function and the setting stick?
Please help I have tried everything i can think of.
I have installed this program on other computers as well and have
experienced the same problem..Oh this only is happening on the laptop
computers

Sorry but it isn't Office that you are having problems with. It's an
issue related to your laptop and the operating system settings you have.
Who is managing the PC for you? Have them disable the numlock at the
login.
