Upgrade to Office for Mac 2008 - Entourage

Am about to upgrade Office for Mac v.X to 2008, but am concerned that I will lose my old email and contacts from Entourage. I'm not using an Exchange server or anything like that and emails are currently downloaded to my MacBook Pro. Is there anything I should do before I upgrade?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Your old identity file will not be deleted when you upgrade to Entourage
2008, so you could still revert to Entourage v.X if things were to go
horribly wrong. But that should not be the case, as Entourage 2008 can
import Entourage v.X identities. Just use File>Import, and you'll be able to
import the old identity file into Entourage 2008.

Some Entourage X users have had trouble using the import and have had to
manually move into Entourage 2008.

How to manually move your data. (when import fails and/or you need to move
to a new Identity same version or revert to an older version)
