Upgrade to Office XP Standard

It's a long story but...I'm in the process of getting
ready to load Windows XP Professional as an upgrade to Win
NT 4 on one hard disk of my computer where I've
reinstalled Win NT 4. I was able to reinstall NT 4 using
the original media and product key that I found.
Unfortunately, I cannot find the original media or product
key for my Office 97 Standard Edition that I want to
upgrade to Office XP Standard. My Office 97 is running on
the original install of Win NT 4 on the other hard disk of
my computer which I plan to reformat once I get the new
Win XP Professional & Office XP Standard running. How can
I buy the Office XP Standard Upgrade and get it to load on
the other part of my computer which currently doesn't have
anything but the new install of Win NT 4? I don't want it
to load on the other hard disk that I plan to reformat.

You can point it to the directory where Office 97 is installed. However,
once you format that drive you lose your rights to the upgrade and, should
you ever need to format the Windows partition and start over, you will not
be able to reinstall Office.

IIWY, I'd purchase a cheap (but make sure it's legal) copy of either 2000 or
97 from Ebay (neither is available retail) and use that.
