If I buy the upgrade version of Office 2003 and my
computer came with a free trial version of Office
Student/Teacher edition will the upgrade work or do I
have to buy the full version?

You need to uninstall the trail version of Office.
You may use the upgrade version of any Office 2003 edition provided your new
computer came with a qualifying product. The qualifying products for a
retail upgrade for any edition of Office 2003 are available here:
