Upgraded to Office XP; but still stuck with Office 2002 HELP!!!!

I have tried numerous times to install office xp over my MS office...

for some reason, it appears the install goes correctly, but then when I
launch i have the previous edition (two editions ago) that launches (for
instance MS Word 2002).

Help....

1. Office XP IS Office with the 2002 versions.
2. If you have a version of Word that came with Works, it should be listed
in control panel->add/remove programs with its own uninstallation routine.
Remove it from there.
3. Suggest you look at what you are asking and then check your setup
carefully to ensure that you are asking the right questions.
