Upgrading from 98 to 2002 XP

I am planning on surprising our secretary with a brand new computer system
as her current one is almost dead. I finally have all the software
installed.

On her current Publisher 98 she can zoom in and out just by using the mouse
scroll wheel. On the new system I can not get this to function. Does this
have something to do with her mouse or is there a menu someplace that I just
missed?

Thanks for the assistance,
Tony

Try holding your Ctrl key while zooming.

In addition to John's response you can "enable program specific button settings" in
the Control Panel. It is strange that the wheel doesn't work however, it sure does
for me. It wasn't my favorite feature.

I always hated in the older versions of Publisher how the scroll wheel
zoomed rather than scrolled - I learned to live with it, managing to scroll
to different areas by zooming in different directions. I was well pleased
when Publisher 2002 let it scroll properly :)

Thanks for the help everyone. Holding down the ctrl key did the trick. I'm sure our secretary will not be to put off for holding down and extra key.

I finally made the swap today. She went from a P3 1Ghz to a P4 3Ghz. It should keep her happy for looooong while.

Thanks Again

Tony
