Upgrading from Office 2000 to 2003

Hi,

My computer (that has Office 2000 Premium - bought as a student licence) is
very ill and thinking of buying a new computer.

If I a bought a new computer with just XP could I then upload Office 2000
Premium (from my CD's) to it, and then upgrade to Office 2003 Basic?
If so, after the 'Basic' upgrade would I still keep the Office 2000 versions
of Powerpoint, Access, Publisher?
Many thanks

Office Basic offers no upgrade path as it is an OEM only first edition of
Office. If you install Office 2000 and then Office Basic and elect to
uninstall Office 2000, only those programs included in Office Basic (Word,
Excel, Outlook) will be upgraded and your other programs (PowerPoint,
Access, FrontPage, Publisher, PhotoDraw, etc.) will be left intact.
