Upgrading from Office 2003 to 2007

I need to upgrade Word and Excel to 2007 to use in training.

After reading the discussion threads I'm wondering if I can keep Outlook
2003 (concern about the printing of monthly calendars) and Power Point 2003
(I have some presentations to make within the month).

Custom install 2007 & select only the components you want
OL2003 will not be able to use Word2007 as the editor

Thanks. I don't use Word as primary email editor anyway.

I'm reassured that I'll be able to function as needed!

Unlike Outlook2003, it is impossible to easily print a selection of an email
in Outlook2007. You can buy an addin at: www.savvisoft.com @ US$19.90.
Bloody ripoff by Microsoft. After paying a fortune for an upgrade to
Outlook2007 it sets you back as far as selective printing is concerned. And
environmentally unfriendly as well, having to throw away all those unwanted
pages. I have asked Microsoft to issue a patch to solve this. But will theuy
listen to us, their clients? Grin and bear www.savvisoft.com or change to
Google is maybe the only solution.

Quite incorrect. As long as the email is not plain text, open it, and in
Other Actions select "Open In Browser". You can then print as little or
as much of the email as you like.

Quite a long way round compared to Outlook2003 and email headings don't come
with it. The curious thing is that that Word2007 does have the option of
only printing 1 page. So why not the email?

Why print it at all? I don't think in my 20 years as a systems and
management accountant I printed more than 5 emails....

I disagree. Only HTML formatted messages in Outlook 2003 allow you to print
portions of the message because HTML messages were rendered with Internet
Explorer. You're doing the same thing in Outlook 2007 by viewing in the
browser - opening the message in an application whose print widget allows
selection printing.
