Upgrading Office 2000 Pro to Office 2007 Home&Student

I have one PC with Office Pro 2000 on it. I just purchased a new PC and
Office 2007 Home and Student edition. Can I install the Office 07 HS over the
pro version and use Word, Excel, PowerPoint all as 07 but MS Access as 2000?

Yes provided H&S is a retail version, not provided with the PC you just
purchased.
The H&S installation should offer to upgrade the earlier version, it will
upgrade 2k components included in H&S and leave the others, eg Access &
Outlook
