Upgrading *only* Outlook within Office?

The company I work for has two images, one with XP and Office 2003
Professional Edition, and the other with Vista and Office 2007.
Unfortunately, due to some software compatibility issues, I will be
remaining on the XP image for the foreseeable future.

My question is....... what would be the implications if I were to
upgrade only Outlook to 2007 and leave the remainder of my image as-
is? From a licensing point of view, I believe this would not be an
issue, but I will check to make sure before going ahead with the
upgrade.

The only other related piece of software I use is OneNote 2007, which
I assume would work well with OL2007 ;)

Thanks for your help.

you'll loose compatibility between outlook and office and some spell check
capabilities. Its always a better experience when you upgrade the entire
office suite.
