Upgrading to MS Office 2007

I currently have Office 2000 and want to know if I can upgrade to 2007
easily, or is it recommended to have Office 2003 prior to upgrading?

Office 2000 is a qualifying product for an upgrade edition. However, you must be running Windows XP SP-2 or higher.
