upgrading to Office Premium 2000

Hello,

I purchased a second hand computer it has Windows ME and
Microsoft Works version 4.5 was preinstalled on my
computer. The MSWorks cd and the product number was
supplied with the computer. I am not sure if this is a
retail cd or OEM.

Am I eligible for the upgrade version of MS Office Premium
2000 ED? The computer meets the system requirements or
would there be a problem installing the upgrade over the
OEM version vs the retail version?

Thank you very much,
James Maye

First off - good luck in finding it! 2000 was discontinued when XP was
released which was, in turn, discontinued when 2003 was released. Works is a
QP for 2000, but you'll be lucky to find it new - but there's always eBay,
just be careful!

It is, in fact, the only one of the last three releases you can install on
that system - Works wasn't a QP for XP and 2003 requires Windows 2000 (SP3
or later) Windows XP or Windows 2003.
