Can i upgrade from 2000/2002 to 2007 with the upgrade software?
I won't need my old software will I? And it upgrades all products in office,
correct? and how can I check if I have service pack 2? I believe I do since
when checked for updates it was giving me service pack 3 but could not
install due to no longer having my software.....also how do I find which
office suite I have, i.e. : basic, small business, etc…..?

You have replies on the other thread. If you don't have the qualifying
software, you can't use the "upgrade" version.

What do you mean by no loger have software?

What version of Office is installed and functioning on your PC?

If you do not have the software CD for your old version and you buy an
upgrade 2007 cd, then if the upgrade process goes wrong, or you ever need to
install it again on a fresh install of win you wont be able to.

I do not know what version of office I have,...that was one of my questions
was how to find out...... I mean I have the software installed on computer
just no longer have the actual cd....so I am getting from what ya'll are
saying my best bet would be to buy a full version of 2007 rather than upgrade
to 2007, correct?

You could open Word and look under Help - About for the version but.......
(you knew I was going to say that, didn't you?) you need to buy the full
version. If you just bought the upgrade and down the road you wanted to move
it to another computer, you could be up a famous creek without a paddle.

When I say version I mean like basic edition, home edition......etc, so I
guess the question really should have been how to find what EDITION of office
I have?

Try under Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs or you could download and run
Belarc Advisor. (I actually prefer that because it tells you everything you
could want to know about your computer and the programs you're running...and
then some.)

That would be problematic should you need to reinstall. You would need
to "acquire" another qualifying software if you wiped the hard drive or
bought a different PC.
