I have uploaded a PowerPoint presentation with embedded sound, but it will
not play on the host end. I need to make it available for others to download
it. Any ideas?

Hey KB,

Are you sure the sound was embedded? What type of media, what size? If you
move the original sound file on your computer, does it still play in the
presentation?

Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or
email a presentation

Check the sound is embedded -

Right click on the sound icon and "edit sound object"

If its embedded it will say File (contained in presentation)
If not there will be a path instead of "contained ....."

Two ways to embed wav files.

1) increase the value in tools>options>general "link to sound files greater
than" to 50000
2) Insert the sound as a transition sound on a slide

John -

Thank you so much. You did answer one question for me, and that's how to
determine whether embedding was successful. All of my sound files say they
are "File (contained in presentation)." I have also copied the presentation
onto a CD and played it in a computer that does not have the original links.

So the exact problem I'm having is getting it uploaded to a host server so
the sound will play and others can download it. The problem might be on the
receiving end. If so, how can I help my host so the presentation will work?

Again, thank you.
