Uploading - Change in Duration.

Hello All,

I tried uploading a Project Plan in Project Server 2002.
I have a calendar that is 24 hours/day.
There is a problem that I am facing uploading the plan.
When I upload the plan, Actual hours worked remain the
same but the Duration ( in days ) changes. There is a
variance between the Baseline Duration and Actual
duration once the plan is uploaded, What could be the
problem?
Any help appreciated.
Thanking you in advance
DV.

Is the calendar part of your enterprise global or is local to the plan. If
the latter is the case, you must enable the use of local base calendars in
order for you to import a plan with a local base calendar. This setting can
be found under Manage Enterprise Features. I recommend that you don't enable
local base calendars and instead create an enterprise calendar.

Hello,
I tried what you said but it still gives me the same
error. What do you think could be the problem. When I
upload my project plan it gives me an error (which is
true) saying the "the resource is assigned outside the
original dates" hence the days are changed but the hours
remain the same.
Please help.
DV.
P.S. I mistakenly posted a different message on
newsgroup. You can ignore that one.

I gave you two options, so what do you mean when you say "I tried what you
said?" How are you saving the plan to the server? Are you using the import
wizard?

Hi
Yes I use the import wizard. Is there any other way to
upload a plan?
I tried
1) To " allow local base calendars " thru Manage
Enterprise Features.
2) To create a calendar in Enterprise Global Pool.
I am confused.
Thank you so much...
DV.

Are you mapping to the desired calendar when you import?

Yes I do map it to the desired calendar.
Its confusing isnt it.
One more problem that I think looks obvious is the fact
that whenever I import the Project "the resource is
assigned outside the original dates" message comes
up...cud that be the problem???
Thank you very much
DV.
