Upsizing wizard

Hi all,

I an using the upsizing wizard to transfer my backend data to SQLServer. If
I use the wizard to write to a new database it works ok, but if I attempt to
upsize to an existing database I get the error
'[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen().]SpecifiedSQL Server not found.' This error
occurs when I specify the ODBC connection. The ODBC Connection connects when
I test it separately.

I have Access 2003.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi,

Yes I did. I have also used the server name, not just the IP address (which
I believe is an issue). Using the DSN I can connect successfully to the
database.

Kind regards,
Arthur.

Can you link some table from SQL Server to access database, or import some
table?

Hi,

I can both link a new table and import a table from SQLServer into Access.

Kind regards,
Arthur.

Well, this is bit strange then, I actually used it 2 days ago, it worked
fine for existing database.
I would try one more thing - run cliconfg, add there alias to your server
(perhaps using IP address) and then use this alias in DSN
