Urgent 2007- page is a picture and is not editable

My company sent me an example document that is a picture!! I cannot edit it!!
When I turn that page into a pdf and save as to a doc which I thought might
work, I get text boxes and pictures.

There must be something easy to fix this Word 2007. Perhaps they slapped
some bldg. block items on the page which made it think it was a picture? How
to get around these. I have come across several and this is the worst thing
about 2007.

Are you sure that the document is not opening if Full Screen Reading View?
If you are, click on the Close button at the top right of the screen. If
you click on the Office button and then go to Word Options and then Popular,
you can uncheck the box for "Open e-mail attachments in Full Screeen Reading
view" and then the documents will open in the normal editing window.

No, the document is opened from the server folder in print preview. I am
using 2007.

Documents do not open in Print Preview. You may well be looking at Full
Screen Reading view. You can edit in FSR view if you enable Allow Typing in
the View Options. You can also edit in Print Preview if you turn the
magnifier off.
