URGENT - Can't select a form button on worksheet

Yipes! I was all ready to distribute my worksheet template
when a small change was requested. This change means
moving a command button to a different location. Excel
won't let me select it. I've disabled the macro that runs
when it's clicked, to no avail. I've created another
command button on top of it, which can be selected, but
not the original. I can't even select it to delete it,
much less move it or set the properties. Haven't had an
errors or crashes, but thinking something was corrupt,
I've rebooted and restarted Excel (2002 on XP).

What can I do??!!

In a panic,
Christine

By "form button", do you mean that it's a button from the Forms toolbar?

Are you sure?

Maybe you used the commandbutton from the Control toolbox toolbar.

If you want to try, show that control toolbox toolbar. Click on the design mode
icon and try selecting that first button.

Dave, I used the Forms toolbar to insert the command
button directly onto the worksheet. Normally, to
select/set properties, I right-click the control. Controls
can also be selected using the drawing toolbar's Select
Objects tool. I've checked everything I can think of that
would prevent its selection, to no avail. I'm clueless!

Do you have Worksheet protection applied (Tools/Protect/Protect
Worksheet)?

If so, unprotect it first.
