[URGENT] Entourage does not open Word / Excel attachements

M

Michel Herrscher

Hello,

(OSX , Office X)

I receive emails with Word/Excel attachements and I have the following :

1 - I can save the attachement , then dble click on it to open correctly
with Word (or Excel)

2 - If Word (or Excel) is already active I can open the Word (Excel)
attachement by double click on the attachement in the message.

3 - If Word (Excel) is not active , I cannot open the .doc (.xls)
attachement from Entourage

4 - With Jpeg attachements, it works correctly

Any ideas why 3 does not work ? any solutions ?

Thanks for your help--

Not sure why - if the association is right when word is already running, it
should start word if it isn't.

One thing to try: drag one of these attachments to the desktop, select it
and hit cmd-I to get the finder's info box. In the drop-down menu under
'Open With:', select 'other' and navigate to Word in the Applications
folder. Then, hit the 'change all...' button.

Does it behave now?
