Hello,

Publisher 2000. Html files are on the internet, however i do not know how to
import external html files onto my Publisher program within my computer to
retain the information and not have to rebuild from xcratch, Can anyone help
me?

I'm a Publisher 2000 website user and have lost the pub file. Sorry to say
I don't know anyway to recover the website from the html files; you'll need
to rebuild them.

As soon as your budget will allow, get yourself a UPS. They not only
provide temporary power during an outage but they also protect your
equipment from power spikes and brown outs.

As a routine I always save a copy of the publisher file on a separate drive
and on the ISP server. Create a folder PUBFILES on the server and upload a
copy of your publisher file there. Most if not all ISP's backup every day.
Your copy is always available to you, and if you are in need of assistance
the publisher file can be downloaded by anyone who has the name of the file.

That's actually a good idea...zip it up and keep it on the server that way
when your puter crashes you've got the original pubs...do it every time you
make a change and you'll never have to cry.

There is a way to get a lot of the web site back into publisher. It is not
perfect but it will restore a lot of the information and images.

This works with Publisher 2002 and 2007 with minor differences.

Log into your ISP and on to your directory of files

Download (copy) the files back to your computer

Open Publisher

File < Open < index.htm

Open each page of your site in the same way

Copy and paste the elements to a new document
