It won't be retrievable. You'll have to do the work over. Let this be a
lesson to you: don't ever open an attachment directly. Not only is it unsafe
(danger of harmful macros), but, as you've found, it's also risky in that
the location is a temp folder; if you don't immediately Save As to another
location, your work may be wasted. Always save the attachment to a Word
document folder before editing.

There may be a light of hope left

Outlook and Outlook express create an OLK folder in the
internet temporary file, if navigating to this folder via
the main explorer window (i.e. clicking on the listed
folders) then this folder will not be displayed, but u may
be in luck.

First ensure that your folder settings in explorer allow
you to see hiden folders.

Now whilst in explorer use the + symbols next to the
folder names (in the folders navigation pane) to expand
the folders, doing this on the internet temporary file
folder should display the OLK folder underneath it.

Now click this folder within the folder navigation pane
and this will now display the once hidden contents of the
OLK folder. If you r VERY lucky it should still be there.

Of course another alternative is, assuming you used word
to make the changes.

Open Word Goto the File Menu and see if the edited file is
still displayed within the recently used list. If it is
then click the file name in the list, cross fingers and
hope it appears.

I'd just like to add that the only reason I know this
possible solution, is because i have made the same mistake
myself in my early years of using a PC and Suzanne is
absolutely correct, you should always save attachments
first before editing them.

regards

Al
