I've had to reinstall an entire server due to Backup Exec failure so I
could not do a restore from backup. Everything is back and running
great, except I cannot get MS Project Server 2002 to install. I
beleive I may have had this problem back when I attempted to migrate
from the evaluation version to the licensed version also.
MS Proj custom install fails during the file copy process, indicating
that it cannot access OWC10.exe in the project server virtual root
directory, because it is being used by another process or program.
I first attempted install on a 2003 standard box, but when I saw this
message decided to keep it on the machine I was restoring, rather than
go through the 2003 compatibility docs and reconfig in the middle of
my rebuild.
Any way, I get the same error on the Win 2000 standard machine, and as
I said, I think I had to do an "Install Now" installation and create a
new database when I migrated from the eval.
Am I missing something here? This is now a production database, and I
need to get this site back up, and connect to the original MS Project
database.
