I ran into this issue once recently when I re-imaged a client's notebook.
There is no error message. When you try to login it makes a clanging sound
and then says "Your account could not be located on groove.net. Check the
information you entered to ensure it is correct. Alternatively, use the
Browse button to select your account file from your computer."

The account is working on the users current pc (hoping to replace with new
one)

In a past case with another user/PC I had used a .grv file saved from
previous install. After uninstalling Groove and removing all vestiges
manually I installed without using the .grv file and successfully logged on.

In this case I forgot not to use the .grv file but even after clearing the
registry and computer of all Groove related files I still can't logon.

I'm logged onto the groove.net with the master user and password just to
check the licensing and activations. I tried using other known good user
emails and passwords and can't logon with those either. I am under the
distinct impression that something is broken here regarding groove.net logon
process or that a major help item is missing from the Online FAQ.

BTW, I can logon to this user's account on her the notebook we are going to
retire.
I have made the exception for groove in the Windows Firewall and have no
other firewall software.

Thanks in advance

Thanks

Hi dsteinschneider -

I don't think you need to visit groove.net to resolve this. Go to the
working PC and choose Options | Account -> Setup Multiple computers. Save the
..grv file from there and copy it to the new PC. double-click it there and it
/should/ try to install the account onto the new PC.

Thanks for the quick reply. Since I posted I figured out that I hadn't
checked multiple computers on the existing pc. Once I did that I uploaded the
account to groove.net and was able to download it on new pc.

Cool beans :)

Note that there's no option to do it via upload for Groove 2007 - you have
to send the file by email/whatever else.

correct
but beware guys
i have noted problems where even on an acnt that had no password, it asks
for one of create new acnt from saved file.

worse if i made sure to use a password before saving the same password did
not work on the install.

could be something my guys were doing wrong but it was freaky

i qualify this was with the 60 trial version. we have received a diff exe
last week with the official media when we bought licenses but have not had a
chance to test this aspect yet
