You cannot use either if they were OEM versions, only retail versions are
transferable to a new PC
You also need to ensure you uninstall any trial version pre installed on
your Vista PC

You don't mean "can", you mean "may". Generic OEM versions can be
transferred but MS doesn't want you to do that.
