Use of Conversation Field

Does anyone know how to use the Conversation Field in Entourage?

I want to be able to use the ³conversation field² for proper message
threading, independent of the subject field. However the conversation field
changes automatically to reflect the contents of the subject field. I would
like it to remain the same as the original starting message at the beginning
of a thread.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure you could do anything about it. I don;t know
any way to control the titles for the conversation fields.

As far as I can tell, the Conversation field parses out subject
amendments like "Re:" and "Fwd:" -- however, it does not seem to do any
sophisticated thread tracking based on message ID. If you reply to
someone and change the subject line, your replies become part of a
separate conversation.

This could be better.
