Use of Ctrl/end keys - Excel 2002

When selecting the ctrl/end keys, the cursor goes to a location that's beyond
any data in my sheet. I deleted all columns to right of data and all rows
below data, but it still goes rightmost data column yet 1,000 rows below data.

My guess is you need to save the file then close and reopen it.
