Use of Forms Command-button on Worksheet

I created several buttons - Now I wish to edit the
text that I originally put in. When I right-click on
any of the buttons (thinking this is how one would
get into edit mode) NOTHING happens; Even if I
View, Toolbars, Forms,, still nothing.. Holding
down the Control key while right clicking... NOthing;

I must not be holding my mouth right.. Can someone
tell me the magic abra-cadabra - that I might be able
to gain access to edit the text (caption)?

I'd prefer not having to delete the buttons, but then again
this isn't a problem since I don't know how this is done.

My sheet or workbook is not protected.

Maybe the button was created from the control toolbox. View>Toolbars>Control
ToolBox. If so, display the toolbox and click on the design icon. Then
click your button and see if it shows the properties window for editing.

Just select the button , so the grey shading is around it, then highlight
the text using the mouse, and amend it.

No, absolutely not - They were set up using the FORMS Toolbox;

I did however test it through bringing up the Controls Toolbox,
setting it to design mode -- clicked a button and the code ran - with error
which was expeted as data is currently missing from the source..

Bob - how do I select it without clicking it?

I just left-clicked holding down the mouse for a few seconds wondering
what I might be able to do in conjuction with this <<but gave up>> so
I release my mouse and the code associated with the button ran..

You sure you used the Forms Toolbar and not the Control Toolbox?

If Control Toolbox, you need to go into "design mode" to edit the caption.

If button from the Forms Toolbar, a right-click should do the job.

Gord, thanks,, Yes I'm sure I used the Forms method;
I think my right-clicker is broken (or is not responding) -
perhaps a software issue requiring a "fix" - possible?

Just normal click it to get the button selected (I am never sure if this is
left or right button I use a left-handed mouse), and then when it is
selected, use the normal mouse button to highlight the text, just as you
would if you highlighted pat of a formula, part of code, etc. When
highlighted, you can edit.

Is the worksheet protected?

If so, re-protect with "edit objects" selected.
