I've not seen any reports of this nor have I experienced any similar issue
myself. Unfortunately you don't provide any details so it's impossible to
offer any specific suggestions. Make sure you have Office fully updated
(12.1.5) as well as OS X (10.5.6), repair disk permissions & restart your
Mac.

If the problem continues please provide a complete description of the
situation including details about the source of the file, what file format
you're saving in, whether this is happening in ALL files or just one in
particular, any formatting being used, etc. Keep in mind that nobody here
has any more to go on than what you provide.

Hello Bob,
Thanks for the quick response
More detail as asked:
- version office 12.1.5 and OSX10.5.6 are OK
Results of some tests with Callouts:
- Open new presentation with blank slide layout
- Create a Callout (line 1, no borders)
- Save as .ppt
- Open - no problem
- Format shape - add arrow
- Save/open - problem. Callout was not saved en disappeared
Is this helping to solve my problem?
Regards

Sorry, but that isn't happening here - No matter what formatting I apply to
which Callout style it's always there when I reopen the file. I've tried to
force the behavior by using various arrow effects, changing the layout,
converting the shape to Freeform, Editing Points, etc. & saving in the
97-2004 (.ppt) format repeatedly rather than the 2008 (.pptx) format.

Unfortunately, without being able to reproduce the problem I really haven't
a clue what to suggest. It's obviously not a bug in the program & must be
local to your system.

Have you restarted your Mac recently? Have you repaired disk permissions as
previously suggested? What happens if you run PPt from a new/different User
Account? You also might try creating similar shapes in Word or Excel & see
if the problem occurs there.

My 'callout problem' is solved when the presentattion is saved as .pptx.
Rem. In the .ppt save mode there is no warning in the compatibility report of this (my?) callout problem.
I finalise my project in .pptx and concider the problem as solved.
Thanks for your time spended and quick reactions
Rregards
