use outlook as data source

i am trying to use outlook contacts for a mailing list? when i us the
assistance help sheet, it keeps telling me i need to set up an outlook
default mail client? it also talks about default email application

pls help

Unless you are merging to e-mail the mail client is not relevant, however
you set up the default e-mail application at Control panel > internet
options.
