Does anybody know how to get MS Word to recognize Thunderbird so that I can send attachments directly from word? When Thunderbird is selected as default email program the send to mail recipient in word is grayed out but it works fine if the Mac Mail app is set as default. I mean no offense, but please dont waste your time telling me about other programs that work better. I just want to know if it is possible to get Thunderbird to work or not. Thanks

This is a known issue with Thunderbird. There's not much you can do about
it, I'm afraid.

Yeah, the creators of Thunderbird do. But they haven't done it yet :)

This feature requires a MAPI interface. Thunderbird hasn't got one
(yet...). They have been promising it for years...

So "No" is your answer. It's not possible.

Cheers
