Imagine the following situation.
We have a projectserver at our office. Normally we log on to it by our
windows user accounts. Now we need also to log on from home. For normal use
it works, but when MS Project is needed the project managers have different
local accounts and can not log on with there usernames.
What is the easiest possibility to solve this problem??
Make a different projectserver account for this user, but then he can not
see his own risks,issues etc. so it will not work.
Any ideas

Thanks for the reply but it isn't completely what I'm looking for.
Isn't it possible to do this with a VPN connection??
Now I already have a VPN connection but it still uses my local login.
Is their such a possibility or are their more complex solutions.

Robert:

The problem with connecting directly, rather than through Citrix or TS, is
security and performance. The VPN should cover the former, but actually
reduces the latter. If you connect via a machine using XP, you can use the
little known password management feature to make sure that Project Server is
receiving the correct credentials.

Thanks for the reply.
I did not knew about this possibility,so I looked it up.
On the microsoft site they say the following:
Classic Password Management UI (Windows XP Professional in a Domain)
But I can't login at a domain so this isn't going to work I think.
But if this is also possible for XP pro without domain it would be great.
Then you don't have to log on to the server and get the same functions.
(Also I want to make clear that the problem lays within MS Project. With the
VPN connection I can logon to PWA. Only I can't use MS Project because of my
local account)

I need to apologise.
What Gary L. Chefetz said was correct. I was to blind to look on the right
place.
Thanks to this excellent tip it worked, although I had to change a small
thing in IIS.

Robert,

Please explain exactly what you did. From what I understand, you succeeded
in transmitting your domain/server Windows Account credentials from an
offsite machine, to teh Project Server, via the VPN. I am looking to do the
same thing!
