User and Group Security

I have created a new mdw and put it in the network file, set up my security
on the copy of the db in that folder and it works perfectly on my computer.
But when I go to open it on another one of the computers, it just opens, no
user name, no password.

Do I have to replace the security.mdw on every computer to make the security
work? Is there any way around this? Currently the db is split but since it is
still in production, people are working on the mdb instead of an mde.

This is the first time I have had to set a group or user level security with
Access and could really use some help with this.

Thanks
Terri

You must have forgotten some steps. ULS is an advanced topic and is
often applied incorrectly. I'm sure that was one of the reasons it is
no longer available in the new ACCDB format introduced with Access
2007 (hint, hint). There simply is no substitute for downloading,
studying, and fully understanding the Access Security FAQ from
microsoft.com before proceeding.
Typically the mdw file is kept on the server, perhaps in the same
location as the back-end.

Hello Terri, Each user has to join the workgroup information file (*.mdw) at
the location where you saved it.
