USER BROWSER ACCESS DENIED

I have uploaded my website from Frontpage 2000 on an XP
operating system to a server which uses Frontpage
extensions. However when visiting the site from the web -
every user is asked for a user name and password. This is
the first time this has occured. I had recently replaced
the web site with a new folder. Lots of suggestions to
date but none of value!!

Open the site directly on the remote server in FP at http://www.domainname.com, then select the top
most folder under Folder List pane, right click and make sure that Allow script to be run and Allow
files to be browsed is checked.

I have followed your guidance - right click, then choose
properties. Neither of the boxes are checked. However it
does not allow me to alter the settings - both boxes
are 'greyed' out.

Have you contacted your host?

It sounds like the web itself has restricted permission (not allowing
Anonymous access). Ask your Host's Network Administrator about this.

Yep - he is looking into the problem - but has not
resolved the issue. Host is ghoulnet.com - UK based
company.

Open you local copy of the web, then check those same setting, if they are un-checked, check them,
then do a full publish and see if that solves the problem.

Have tried this as well. Boxes still greyed out.

Interesting. It should take him all of five minutes to fix. Ten if he has a
whole bunch of web sites to administer (allowing 5 minutes to find your
site).
