User Log In Issue

User has a valid log on into Project Web Access, using NT
Authentication. When the user logs in, the user is challenged by
Windows for a user name and password. This is not the Project Server
Authentication challenge.

If the user hit's "Cancel", the user is logged into PWA normally. If
the user tries to fill in the user name and password for the users NT
Authentication and domain, nothing happens.

I have suggested that this is a network issue not related to Project
Server, but we still need to get this annoying log in screen to go
away.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Then look at the browser security settings in the trusted sites zone, and
make sure that the user authentication is set to logon automatically with
current user credentials.

Been there, done that. :). That was my first troubleshooting step,
since I have seen that before. It is a local machine or network
related as I had the user log in using my computer and there wasn't a
problem. Thanks though!

I have two individuals (out of 100+) that are being challanged by network
login. They cannot use the cancel function and logins with valid user name
and password fail. I have had the user check on the Trusted Zone settings
and all was correct. We have checked on MDAC 2.8 (another thread) and all is
OK. We have powered up and down; no luck. Gary: can you recommend a "check
list" of things to try?

Yes, one of the users that is having the logon issue from his system is able
to logon to PWA from a different system.

I am not sure what you mean by "renaming the users profile". Can you explain
in a little more detail?

Jim:

Sounds like you need to get someone with desktop support experience
involved. A profile is created on the computer for each named user. Renaming
the profile forces it to be recreated when the user logs on the next time.
Expand your C: drive and look for the folder "Documents and Settings" to
find your user profiles.
