User Schedules a Recurring Meeting, Does Not Appear On Their Calendar

This is the scenario:

User 1 creates new recurring meeting request to other users and
resource, in this case, a conference room

User 1 looks on their calendar for the meeting later, and it is not
there

Other users have the meeting booked properly

Open the meeting from the resource calendar, and meeting organizer is:
User 1

The biggest nuisance is now, it is really difficult to change the
meeting time and get everyone updated.

Any help would be appreciated.
