Using 2 calendars in one project

Yes, you can use two or more calendars in one project.
If you alter a Task's default calendar through Task
Information you must determine which calendar is the
primary calendar, the Task's calender or the assigned
Resource's calendar. By checking the Scheduling ignores
resource calendars box you force Project to override the
resource calendar and use the new Task calendar for that
task. I hope this helps you understand why your durations
did not change.

Yes, but why use Task calendars? Project will take into account your
resources calendars automatically.
